Our Bevan21 streamlined, environmentally friendly box body hit the headlines in the commercial vehicle trade press when it was fitted to an MAN TGM truck for a series of road tests.
Online publication I-Truck noted that the 18-tonner “was very well appointed with… a super sleek Bevan21 GRP box body”. Transport News, meanwhile, commented: “The aerodynamic slope of the roof of its Bevan21 box body was the most immediately striking aspect of this 18-tonne, 4x2 rigid. There’s no doubt that when correctly matched to a roof-mounted spoiler… the design will surely make a huge difference to miles per gallon achieved on a mid or long distance run.” MAN Product Marketing Manager Les Bishop added: “We chose to fit a Bevan21 body to demonstrate that we’re working with our suppliers and customers to help them reduce fuel consumption – both to control operating costs and to cut carbon emissions. We also know that Bevan bodies are well-engineered, high-quality products and as such they share MAN’s brand values.” |

The 18-tonne TGM 18.240 with its Bevan21 – the curved roof profile of which is designed to reduce wind resistance, and thereby cut fuel consumption and exhaust emissions – appeared in the pages of several leading industry magazines, after MAN handed it to the media for road tests.
