Bevan-Welford, the specialist vehicle division of the Oldbury based Bevan Group, has released details of a massive £2million investment and expansion programme planned in the West Midlands. The programme, due to start in November this year, includes moving the specialist vehicle division to a modern new facility in Halesowen, thereby increasing the manufacturing capability from 10 vehicles a week to over 40. The new site on the Amber Way in Halesowen is 25,000 square feet - 5 times larger than the current facility in Dudley. It offers 4 production lines and is anticipated to create in excess of 40 new jobs. Bevan Bodycheck, the after care service and maintenance division of the group is also moving to the new site. Welford has been trading in the West Midlands for over 130 years and has a solid reputation for building functional vehicles for local authorities and utilities, in particular in the waste handling and recycling sector. Commenting on this exciting investment programme, Chris Hare, Managing Director of Bevan Welford said “We’re proud of our roots here in the Black Country and we’re pleased to be making this long-term commitment to the region and the community. New jobs are precious in the British manufacturing industry and we’re confident that as our business continues to grow and develop, we’ll be able to offer further opportunities for local people” |
