Ten new VW Crafters for nationwide aftercare fleet
Bevan Aftercare, the onsite repairs division of the commercial vehicle body builder Bevan Group, has recently added 10 new VW Crafter vans to equip its ever expanding fleet of nationwide mobile engineers.
The Halesowen based business started out with just 3 mobile engineers in 2004. The division has since expanded to 12 engineers, enhanced by the modernisation of the fleet and the addition of these 10 medium wheel based Crafter 109’s, supplied on a full maintenance contact from Newtown Vehicle Rentals. The division is due to expand even further with 4 extra Crafters ordered for spring 2008 to service the new engineers coming on board.
Chris Hare Director of Bevan Group Aftercare said “We were looking for a versatile vehicle, a robust workhorse that would also provide a comfortable ride for our engineers. We chose the extra-height model to ensure maximum load capacity, bearing in mind we’re often repairing complete floors, roof sections and replacing GRP panels – we need to find space for the parts and the vast range of equipment on board. The fuel efficient Crafter provided the perfect solution, due to its reduced whole life costs it’s a competitively priced, highly functional vehicle and our engineers are delighted with its performance.”
The vans, which provide a Nationwide on site repairs service for commercial vehicle operators, carry a comprehensive range of parts and spares ranging from corner castings to LED lights, floor sections to roof panels. They are also fully equipped with compressor, MIG welder, hydraulic porta-power ram, generator, ladders, scaffolding tower and transformers.
